What is Raw Milk and What Makes it So Healthy?
You've probably heard a lot of talk about raw milk lately. It's a popular subject around my farm. But just like anything else, buzz words and labeling can be very confusing.
Maybe you've heard rumors that raw milk is unsafe? Or that it's illegal? Or you don't even know what it is! So what are you supposed to believe?! You want what's best for you and your family, but you want them to be safe!
What IS Raw Milk?
It’s milk that is unpasteurized and unhomogenized. Raw milk contains all of its natural enzymes, fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. When milk is pasteurized by a heating process, all of those essentials are killed off. Causing digestive issues and allergy issues.
So, basically, we go out every morning and evening, milk our cows, strain the milk, and then chill. That's it. All of the natural enzymes, fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals are all still in the milk. Because we don't pasteurize it, none of those essentials get killed off!
Is raw milk safe?
Our family has been drinking raw milk for years, and have never had any negative side effects. In fact, raw milk has been safer for our family than pasteurized milk!
Myself and some of my children suffered for years from digestive issues, allergies, and eczema. After putting our family on raw milk....POOF!.....digestive problems, allergies, and eczema were GONE!
Isn't raw milk illegal?
That's a common misconception.
No, raw milk is not illegal in Oklahoma. We are only allowed to sell it from our farm, but it's legal to purchase on farm and to drink! In some states, there are stricter regulations on raw milk sales, but thankfully, we live in a state that is pretty lenient.
You're not doing anything wrong by buying and feeding your family raw milk.
I'm lactose intolerant, I can't drink milk.
Well, raw milk may be perfect for you!
A negative side effect of pasteurization is that it destroys the digestive enzymes necessary to break down and absorb certain nutrients. Lactase (the enzyme in dairy) levels are greatly reduced with pasteurization, which is one reason why so many people are lactose-intolerant.
In our family, all of us diagnosed with lactose intolerance were free of symptoms once we switched to raw milk!
I have heard many testimonials from customers and customer surveys that say they had no symptoms of lactose intolerance after making the change to raw milk! Since lactose intolerance seems to be such a common problem in our country, that's amazing to hear!
What are some health benefits to Raw Milk?

So, Raw Milk........does it taste weird?
It is delicious and tastes amazing!!!!
You can't beat fresh raw milk, full of cream, ice cold in a tall glass. My kids won't drink milk from the store. My customers won't drink milk from the store. My husband was always a big milk drinker, and when he took one sip of raw milk for the first time, he was hooked.
Our jersey girls are out on fresh grass daily, happy and healthy, their milk is creamy, rich, and clean tasting.
I don't know about you, but when I got milk from the store, it had a weird after taste. Which I noticed even more when I started drinking raw milk. Glad I did because that strange aftertaste is a result of added ingredients, including extra sugar or artificial sweeteners, thickening agents, or preservatives. Even organic dairy products from the store contain those artificial ingredients!
You won't find anything unnatural in raw milk! It's a whole, complete food!
A word of caution
Just as with any change in your diet, there are potential side effects for some people. As many people that have found freedom from health issues by drinking raw milk, there are still a small few who find they still have digestive or allergy issues. Always use caution when making changes to your diet.
If you want to know more about Raw Milk, I would be more than happy to share our family's food freedom stories!

Hi Tabitha and family! I live only about 4 miles from you on Shiloh Road. I would very much like to visit your farm and purchase some products. I grew up drinking raw milk and oh how I miss it! May I ask you how much the milk costs? I will most definitely come out to your farm if I may. I drive by it every week day on my way to work at the bank in Hulbert. Every time I drive by I tell myself that some day I want to come by to see your farm and buy some farm fresh milk and meat. Thank you and God bless you and your lovely family!!
