You Need to Try This Simple Pork Roast Recipe Complete with Sides

Pork, it’s what’s for dinner.

For our large and busy family, I need an easy meal that I can fix quickly and not have to think about until dinnertime.  What's not to love about a protein surrounded by vegetables, all in one pot, all ready at the same time?

I’m sure you’re with me on that! Which is why crock pots, and instant pots are so popular!

And cooking a pork roast is just as easy and tasty as any beef roast.  In fact, my husband prefers our pork roasts over beef!  

This recipe for cooking a tender pork roast is a crowd pleasing dinner you can make with very little effort!

EASY PORK ROAST

Ingredients:
3-4 lb. Rare Breed Farms Shoulder or Butt Pork Roast
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 cup water

Instructions:
Place roast in crock pot, add water to the bottom.
Mix together the seasonings. Rub or pat over the top of the roast.

Cook on low in your slow cooker/crock pot for 8-10 hours.

Slice and enjoy!

HONEY ROASTED APPLES

Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 15 minutes Serves: 4

These apples are so delicious!!! My kids love them and they go very will with pork of any kind.

Ingredients:
4 apples
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/3 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions:
Pre-heat oven to 425.
Remove the core and cut into 1 inch chunks, toss with lemon juice.
Heat a cast iron skillet on medium high heat with the butter in it.
When the butter begins to brown add the apples and kosher salt.
Sautee for 5 to 7 minutes until the edges start turning a rich brown color.
Add the honey and put in oven for about 8-10 minutes.
The apples should be tender but not mushy and richly caramelized.
Carefully serve with spatula, taking care not to smash them.

ROASTED SWEET POTATOES

Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 35 minutes Serves: 4

Ingredients:
2 large sweet potatoes
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon parsley
1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Prepare a baking sheet with non stick cooking spray.
Diced sweet potatoes into bite sizes pieces. Add to a mixing bowl. Toss with oil until potatoes are coated. Season with remaining ingredients and toss again until coated. 
Placed seasoned potatoes on your baking sheet and bake for 30-35 minutes or until potatoes are tender. 

TIME SAVING TIP:
You can pre-chop the sweet potatoes and apples the night before or the morning of. Just place the chopped pieces in a bowl, cover will cool water, and keep in the fridge until you’re ready to use them.
